Summary Artist Statement
The works featured in this portfolio attempt to capture the culmination of a life embedded within mass media onto canvas. The complexity of modern media is often captured in film, music and video. I attempt to capture the modern era in a style marked by layers of distinct images, stenciled words, abstract design, complete stories and raw colors. Beyond capturing modern life, i attempt to bind my style and voice to historical art movements. I believe art must be aware and complement the past to competently capture the present.
